UKRAINE’S TOTAL MOBILIZATION ON HYBRID WARFARE STRATEGY TO FIGHT AGAINST THE RUSSIAN INVASION

The war between Ukraine and Russia has posed complex challenges in the form of hybrid warfare, with Ukraine adopting a total mobilization strategy to counter Russia's invasion using hybrid warfare tactics. The research problem focuses on Ukraine's total mobilization strategy in hybrid warfare against Russia. This thesis aims to analyze and evaluate how Ukraine implements total mobilization in the context of hybrid warfare to resist the Russian invasion, utilizing qualitative research methods such as document analysis, interviews, and observations. The study explores mobilization policies, tactics, and comprehensive approaches used by Ukraine. The literature review delves into the concepts of total mobilization, hybrid warfare strategy, and the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The theoretical framework adopts mass mobilization theory and hybrid warfare theory to better understand Ukraine's total mobilization practices in facing the Russian invasion. Research findings indicate that Ukraine is prepared for total mobilization in the military realm, utilizing reserve forces and civilian mobilization under a military emergency declaration. The nation focuses on enhancing military personnel training and technological equipment, including training abroad for reserve forces. Legislative changes lower the mandatory military age to 25 and streamline the registration process. The hybrid warfare strategy involves both military and non-military approaches, including counterattacks, air strikes, hold and build tactics, and hybrid war strategy. NATO provides military and non-military aid, supporting Ukraine's defense capabilities, rebuilding security sectors, imposing economic sanctions on Russia, and delivering humanitarian and medical assistance. Diplomatic efforts are crucial to resolving the conflict.
